The Netherlands was one of the pioneers of selling weed, or wiet in Dutch. Coffee shops have long made it possible to openly buy weed in Amsterdam, and the country’s liberal culture means such shops have opened allowing people nationwide to buy weed in Netherlands. These shops are generally open to anyone, although some areas do ban the sale to tourists. The shops usually sell a variety of products, from pre-rolled joints, or for use in a vaporizer, many will also sell leafy weed for you to prepare.

Weed is still technically illegal in The Netherlands, although small amounts for personal use are overlooked. However, as other countries have liberalised the Dutch are catching up and are starting to regulate the whole cannabis market in the country, returning it to it historic status as a weed world-leader.
